The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has embarked on a recall exercise of Polyfort Suspension, an antacid used for the treatment of heartburn, indigestion, and hyperacidity manufactured in Nigeria by Swiss Pharma Limited.

According to the FDA, the recall of the product is due to negative results from a series of on-going stability tests. Meanwhile, FDA Ghana has not registered the product, but they said anyone who comes across this product in trade in Ghana should report it to any of the FDA’s offices across the country.

The FDA has since deplored its surveillance team to be monitoring the country’s ports of entry and markets to ensure that such unregistered products find themselves in the country.
