Dominic Akuritingna Ayine, the incumbent MP and an aspirant in the Parliamentary Primaries in the Bolga-East Constituency, has cast his vote and expressed optimism about winning the primaries at the close of polls today.

“I am expecting that this evening I will be declared the victor in this election.”

Adding to that, though the usual scheming and political lies can’t be taken away from campaigns, the political atmosphere in the constituency has been largely free and fair.

” Our campaign was largely free and fair, devoid of fighting and so on. Of course, with any political campaign, there will be the usual political lies. There will be the usual twisting of facts, and so on. But we managed our best to stay civil in the course of the campaign.”

The MP noted that, as an advocate for peace and party unity, he was certain that unity would prevail in the party even after the results had been declared. Adding that the entire process has been as good as expected.

“So far, so good. I have always called for unity, and after we have finished with this election, unity will prevail in this constituency.”

The MP is fiercely contested by Dr. Emmanuel Abeeri-enga, an engineer. In all, 418 delegates are expected to turn out to cast their votes.
