Members of the Union of May Borns (UMABO) have presented assorted toiletries to 129 newborn babies in selected hospitals and health centres in the Upper East Region.

The presentation formed part of activities of the union to mark this year’s celebration of the month of May.

Since the formation of UMABO in 2011, presentation of assorted toiletries to newborn babies in hospitals and clinics in the region has been a core activity of the union aside blood donation.

Speaking on News Link on A1 Radio on Wednesday May 31, 2023 after this year’s presentation, National President of UMABO, William Nlanjerbor Jalulah, disclosed that the beneficiary facilities were Zebilla District Hospital, Tongo District Hospital, Bongo District Hospital and Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga. He also mentioned Coronation Clinic otherwise referred to as Plaza Clinic and another clinic in Bongo as facilities where newborn babies benefited from the benevolence of the union.

According to the President, the presentation of the items was made possible through the contributions of members. He, therefore, expressed his appreciation to members for their continuous support towards the activities of the union.

Before the presentation, there was a picnic for members on May 1 and a blood donation exercise on 12th and 13th of May.
