The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Lawyer Anthony Namoo, has stated that the party is convinced it can cause huge upsets and pull surprises at the upcoming general election.
Speaking to Mark Smith on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East show, Lawyer Namoo stated that despite the party’s abysmal performance in the 2020 parliamentary election in the region, NPP is going to give NDC run for their money in the region in 2024.
“In Upper East 2024 God has been so good, we will pull a lot of surprises. NDC is going to have a run for their money.”
Before the 2020 general election, the NPP in the Upper East region occupied 3 seats; Navrongo, Tempane, and Zebilla constituencies. But after the elections, the party lost the seats but managed to snatch the Binduri constituency which was previously occupied by the National Democratic Congress.
But going forward, Lawyer Anthony Namoo is of the view that the party in the region can win more seats if party members irrespective of their positions work tirelessly beginning at the electoral area level. According to Lawyer Namoo, since it is on record that the party has once won four seats in the region, it is possible that the party can do better.
