Alhaji Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate of the Pusiga constituency has vowed to give Hajia Lardi Ayi Ayamba of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) the biggest showdown in the 2024 elections. Hajia Lardi was first elected as a Member of Parliament for the Pusiga constituency in the 2012 general elections, retained the seat in 2016 and 2020 elections and is currently seeking her 4th term.
But Alhaji Aludiba says the MP has not lived up to the expectations of the constituents ever since she took over the helm of affairs of the constituency in parliament and should not be given another chance to go back to parliament.
Alhaji Aludiba who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Buffer Stock Company Limited has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the parliamentary seat for the NPP stating that he has worked tirelessly to deliver development projects to the people of Pusiga.
He highlighted his efforts and those of the current government in improving education, healthcare, potable water, and infrastructure in the constituency which he said exceeds what the MP and the NDC have done for the people of Pusiga in the past 12 years.
“We are a development-oriented party and we are going into this election based on our achievements as a party, and government vis-à-vis what our opponent has done. We have 15 electoral areas in this constituency and in every electoral area, we have performed more than the current Member of Parliament”, he stated.
Alhaji Aludiba emphasised his commitment to the welfare of the people, promising to address their concerns and empower them in various sectors when elected MP for Pusiga. The NPP parliamentary candidate stated that he is not just interested in winning the election, but also in making a positive impact on the lives of the constituents.
He was speaking at the campus of the Gbewaa College of Education in Pusiga on Sunday when he was confirmed parliamentary candidate of the NPP by popular acclaim to contest the 2024 general election.
Alhaji Aludiba did not shy away from expressing his confidence in defeating the incumbent MP under the ticket of the NDC stating that his achievements and popularity in the constituency would give him an edge to give Hajia Laadi the “biggest showdown”
“In the 2024 elections in Pusiga here, we are going to give Hajia Lardi the biggest showdown. We will give her the biggest showdown and she will run out of the constituency. It will not be by anything other than what we have done in the constituency. That would compel Hajia Lardi to run out of the constituency”.
Alhaji Aludiba therefore called for unity among party members ahead of the general to ensure victory. For a resounding victory for the NPP, he entreated members and sympathisers of the elephant party “to form a formidable force that is stronger than apartheid and cannot be broken”
The NPP parliamentary candidate promised a campaign of track record devoid of insults, and intimidation. The Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Lawyer Anthony Namoo said the NPP’s track record of development surpasses the NDC’s track record in the region. He mentioned the ongoing construction of the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom Road, the Agenda 111 hospital project which the Pusiga district is benefiting, and the constructed Kulungugu bridge among other projects that the people of the region should renew the mandate of the party.
National Deputy Organizer of the NPP, Joseph Kwayaja Nganiba admonished party members to support Alhaji Aludiba with prayers, and logistics to mobilise the grassroots for victory in the next election.
