The Electoral Commission (EC),has served notice that it would not extend the limited voters registration exercise which ended on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 5: PM.
According to the commission, however, arrangements have been made for eligible citizens who were in the queue on or before 5: pm on Monday to be registered on Tuesday October 3, 2023.
This was contained in a press release released by the commission and signed by the Head of public affairs, Michael Boadu.
Meanwhile the Commission said it has introduced an online payment portal ahead of the exercise to replace lost voter ID cards.
“Applicants who wish to have their cards replaced should simply follow the steps by dialing *222*1067#, Enter amount required, Enter reference (full name of voter), Transfer summary is presented, Select 1 to confirm details, Wait for prompt to authorize transaction or Check under my Approvals on *170#”, it stated
It added that “the applicant will receive an SMS upon the successful completion of the transaction with the payment reference. This notification is to be presented at the point of payment”.
