The Member of Parliament for Wa West and retired police officer, Peter Toobu, has asserted that democracy has produced President Akuffo Addo as the worst president ever in the history of the country.
According to the lawmaker, “Governance is all about making life better and not thievery, corruption, or creating difficulty in the system, so much so that when one goes to the hospital, common paracestamol is prescribed for the person to go and buy at the pharmacy”.
“This is not the way to run a country, and this was never what we expected in 2016 when we voted for Akufo Addo, and this was not our dream when we repeatedly voted for him in 2020. It is historically bad, and all of us should rise up and say democracy has produced one of the worst presidents for us, and never again should we experience such in our governance system,” he added.
He revealed this when he spoke to Mark Smith on A1 Radio`s Daybreak Upper East show regarding the “Occupy BOG” demonstration, which is seeking the resignation of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana and his deputies.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the management of the Bank of Ghana by Dr. Ernest Addison and his deputies as reckless, leading to losses totaling GH60.81 billion for the 2022 financial year as against a profit of GH1.23 billion recorded in 2021.
