The Regional Secretary of the NPP, who also serves as a Parliamentary Candidate (PC) aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Elvis Atia Awonekai, has been accused of corrupting the electoral process by offering Ghc500 to each of the 794 delegates.
These allegations were made by Agana Bawa Rashid, another candidate. He voiced these accusations during a conversation with A1 Radio’s Joshua Asaah regarding the ongoing parliamentary primaries in the Upper East Region.
The NPP in the Upper East Region is conducting primaries in 10 constituencies, namely Bolgatanga Central, Builsa South, Navrongo, Chiana-Paga, Bongo, Talensi, Nabdam, Zebila, Garu, and Tempane constituencies.
In three constituencies, namely Pusiga, Bolgatanga East, and Builsa North Constituencies, candidates went unopposed.
Elections are currently on hold in the Bawku Central Constituency.
