The opposition People’s National Convention has officially announced the dates for the elections of various internal positions within the party, including regional executives, national executives, and presidential candidates’ elections.
A statement signed by Janet Asana Nabla, the General Secretary of the party, indicated that the regional elections are scheduled to take place from January 15th to January 31st, 2024, followed by the national elections on March 2nd, 2024, and the presidential elections on March 24th, 2024.
According to the release, eligible contestants can obtain their nomination forms from the regional and national offices on January 4th, 2024. The form for a regional position would cost GHC200.00, GHC500.00 for national positions, and GHC2,000.00 for presidential positions.
The filing fee for presidential candidature is GHC100,000.00, while it is GHC35,000.00 for the national chairperson. Meanwhile, women contestants in all the various positions are required to pay half of the specified amount for their respective positions.
