It is expected that in the first pricing window for February 2024, prices of petrol will remain the same while slight increases are expected for diesel and LPG.
This is according to the Chamber for Petroleum Consumers-Ghana (COPEC). Speaking on the Day Break Upper East Region today, January 29, 2024, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for COPEC explained that these increases have been occasioned because of increases in the prices of these items on the international market.
“Petrol would be increasing marginally on the international market but the cedi would appreciate so it would not account for any increase on the price at the local pumps. But for diesel, on the international market it increased and it was not marginal, but because the cedi would perform better, again, it would account for only a marginal increase at the local pump,” he said.
“LPG will also increase marginally,” he said.
Mr. Addae explained that prices of these commodities have seen very minimal changes at the local pumps because of the minimal changes on the international market.
