The Senior National Soccer Women’s team, Black Queens, held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon as part of preparations for their big game against the Copper Queens of Zambia.

Nora Hauptle’s side will welcome Zambia for the third-round Olympic Games qualifying match at 5pm.

The first leg against the Copper Queens is set for the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, February 23rd.

Reportedly, 18 out of the 23 invited players were involved in the team’s first session at the Accra Sports Stadium with five more players yet to report to camp.

Charlton Athletic’s Freda Ayisi and Gifty Assifuah are part of the five who were not involved in the team’s training on Monday.

Notable players including Jennifer Cudjoe, Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu, and Freda Ayisi, who is set to make her Black Queens debut, have all joined the Black Queens at the camp.

Meanwhile, Coach Hauptle would be striving to better his impressive record of 10 victories in 11 matches.

The Black Queens are two ties away from a first-ever Olympic Games qualification after beating Guinea and Benin in the first two rounds of the qualifiers, respectively.

The Black Queens are poised for action as they are hoping to rewrite the history of 20 years of Olympic Games absence.
