The Bolgatanga Technical University has admitted its first batch of postgraduate students to study MSc programs in agriculture, and procurement, logistics, and supply chain management.
According to the university, more postgraduate programs will be progressively introduced in the remaining departments when those departments are ready to kickstart. This is part of the university’s vision to have a one-stop university for all academic programs and progression, as it is preparing to introduce PhD programs starting with the School of Agriculture.
“The university has admitted the first batch of postgraduate students this academic year. This will consolidate the vision of the university to run cutting-edge programmes for sustainable national development. In furtherance of this, we will soon start preparing the grounds to introduce PhD programs, starting with the School of Agriculture. By this, we will have a one-stop university for all your academic programmes and progression. This will also afford our various faculties the opportunity to have more hands to do research work, innovations, and inventions for their career development,” said university officials.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Bolgatanga Technical University, Professor Samuel Erasmus Alnaa, who announced this while addressing the 2023/2024 academic year matriculation ceremony, urged the master’s students to set a remarkable record as the first postgraduate students for the university.
“To our postgraduate students, you are welcome to Bolgatanga Technical University, You are the first batch of students who have come to do postgraduate studies, so we want you to make a very good mark. Don’t leave a bad footprint for your colleagues to come later on,” he said.
Professor Alnaa also called on the over 1,000 students at the university who were admitted for the 2023/2024 academic year to see the postgraduate students as their role models.
