The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association on Friday accepted the decision of the five-member Black Stars Head Coach search committee to appoint Otto Addo as the next coach of the Black Stars.

In light of that, Otto Addo has officially named Joseph Laumann, John Paintsil, and Fatawu Dauda as assistant coaches of the Black Stars.

Joseph Laumann, who will serve as the assistant coach 1, is a UEFA Pro-License coach and also a former player who played in Cyprus, Germany, and Vietnam. Also in coaching, he has been with Standard Liege, VfL Bochum, and Barnsley in the English Championship.

Meanwhile, former Fulham, West Ham United, and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa player John Paintsil will replace George Boateng as the Assistant Coach 2. John Paintsil is a former Berekum Arsenal and Liberty Professionals player and Ghana legend who earned 89 caps for the country. He rose through the ranks to become captain and a member of the squad that won Bronze in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

John was a former assistant coach at Kaizer Chiefs and a CAF License B holder.

Fatawu Dauda, a former goalkeeper of Waarriya, Okwahu United, AshantiGold, and Orlando Pirates, earned 23 caps and featured in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He previously served as the goalkeeper’s trainer for the Sudanese national team.

Otto Addo, together with his backroom staff, are expected to be at the helm of affairs when Ghana takes on both Nigeria and Uganda in international friendly matches later this month in Morocco.

The GFA is, therefore, calling on Ghanaians to exercise patience and offer the team their full backing as they embark on this rebuilding process.
