COP Patrick Akolgo (Rtd) pledges support for Security Training Center Development in Nabdam

At a recent event attended by dignitaries and course participants, COP Patrick Akolgo (rtd), one of the special guests, reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the Security Resilience and Peace Building Training and Education Centre (SRAPBTEC) in Nangodi, a community in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region.

Mr. Akolgo highlighted his dedication to developing the center to a level comparable to similar facilities in other regions of the country.

In his speech, Mr. Akolgo assured the people of the Upper East Region of the steadfast commitment of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Akuffo Dampare, and his administration to ensure the center is well-equipped to fulfill its core mandate.

He emphasized that a well-resourced SRAPBTEC would significantly contribute to resolving the region’s security challenges, thereby attracting much-needed development to the area and beyond.

Mr. Akolgo praised the IGP’s transformative vision for the Ghana Police Service, noting that the training of personnel is a central strategy in this transformation.

He pointed to the rapid establishment of SRAPBTEC as evidence of this commitment, highlighting its role in serving all security agencies in the region and fostering peace and resilience.

During his address, Mr. Akolgo urged all stakeholders, including the business community and state agencies within the region, to support the police administration’s efforts.

He called for collective action to restore peace and security in the region, making it a safe environment for all residents and visitors.

The establishment of SRAPBTEC in Nangodi marks a significant step towards enhancing the capacity of security personnel in the Upper East Region.

The center aims to provide comprehensive training and education to bolster security resilience and peacebuilding efforts.

With ongoing support from both local and national levels, Mr. Akolgo said SRAPBTEC was poised to become a cornerstone in the region’s security infrastructure, driving progress and stability in the Upper East and beyond.
