CEO of Charger Limited pledges unwavering support for Upper East Region’s creative industry

Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, the Chief Executive Officer of Charger Limited, has announced the company’s steadfast commitment to supporting the creative industry in the Upper East Region.

Edward Anafo Abanbila, the Upper East Regional representative of Charger Limited, speaking on behalf of Dr. Borketey, emphasized the company’s belief in the transformative power of music and arts.

He gave his outfit’s unwavering commitment to the creative industry, which he said underscores the company’s dedication to providing the necessary resources and platforms to help local artists thrive. Dr. Borketey emphasized that Charger Limited’s support is not just a business investment but a passion for the arts and a pledge to the future of the region’s cultural heritage.

“At Charger Limited, we are not just business leaders but also passionate supporters of the arts. We recognize the immense potential within our local communities, and we are dedicated to providing the necessary resources and platforms to help artists thrive,” he indicated.

This assurance by Dr. Borketey was made known during a ceremony held at Tap Hotel in Bolgatanga to present plaques and incentives to the winners of the 2023 edition of the Upper East Music Awards (UEMA23). For his reward, the UEMA23 Artiste of the Year, Fasetwo, walked home with a cash prize of GH₵20,999.00, brand logo usage, brand sponsorship for a concert, and Charger Ltd products supply for a year.

The Blogger of the Year, Gh Blinks, took home a cash prize of GH₵7,400, GH₵200 monthly data support for 12 months, and HM products. Best New Act of the Year, Flamebwoy, will be supported with a monthly stipend of GH₵500 for a year.

HMB Most Popular Song of the Year was awarded a cash prize of GH₵5000 and brand sponsorship for a music video, while the Male Vocalist of the Year took home a cash prize of GH₵5000.

Dr. Borketey entreated organizers of UEMA to rotate the venue for the awards scheme “to allow other parts of the region also have a feel of the scheme and make it representative enough”. Azongo Albert, a Media Consultant for Charger Limited, commended the artists of the region for their continuous support for the brand. Charger Limited, producer of Happy Man Bitters, Black Legend Coffee Gin, and HM Life Mixture, an immune booster, has been the main sponsor of the awards scheme since its inception for the past 5 years.
