The Chief of Pusiga, in the Upper East region, Naaba Tambiss-Baalug Konwiag, has lavished praise on former President John Dramani Mahama for his administration’s development projects in the district.

The Pusiga Naaba commended former President Mahama for the construction of the Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom road, among other initiatives, during his tenure.

During a visit by the former president to the Pusiga Naaba’s palace on his campaign tour in the region, the Chief’s secretary, George A. Atuase, who read the chief’s welcome address, noted that the road project has significantly improved transportation and economic activities in the area, benefiting the people of Pusiga and beyond.

Naaba Tambiss-Baalug expressed gratitude to former President Mahama for his vision and commitment to developing the district, saying his legacy continues to positively impact lives.

“Under the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration led by your good self, the Pusiga district witnessed significant developments. Notable among these were the elevation of Pusiga to district status, establishment of Pusiga Community Day Senior High School, the Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom road, rural electrification district-wide, construction of CHPS compounds, construction of basic schools, and fertilizer subsidy for our farmers. These initiatives have greatly contributed to the growth and progress of our district. I will remain thankful for your contributions to our district.”

Meanwhile, Pusiga Naaba Tambiss-Baalug urged the former president to ensure the completion of the 117.9-kilometre Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom road project if he becomes president in this year’s election. The chief also called on the former president not to forget about the Pusiga district, as the district lacks many developmental projects.

Mr. Atuase, on behalf of the chief, appealed to the former president to consider the district in his appointments if he is elected.

Former President John Dramani Mahama said that while peace and security in the Bawku enclave remains a major priority for the next NDC government, he is poised to continue all his developmental projects in the area.
