Completion date for Upper East Regional Passport Office uncertain due to weather conditions

Kennedy Enyan, the project manager for the new passport office in the Upper East Region, has announced that the completion of the building may be delayed beyond the originally scheduled date in November due to adverse weather conditions.

Enyan explained that despite the team’s best efforts, they cannot guarantee that the passport office will be finished as planned. He noted that adaptations were made to ensure a more sustainable structure for the region.

“There were some modifications that needed to be addressed. The ministry had to collaborate with the technical team in Accra to make these adjustments. For example, the fence wall was not included in the initial contract but was later added as necessary,” Enyan said.

Regarding the current progress, Enyan reported that the project has reached the roofing stage, and workers have resumed construction after a brief hiatus. However, the ongoing rainy season is complicating the process.

“We are now working on the roofing, and because it’s the rainy season, we are trying to complete the roofing simultaneously with the walls. We resumed work about a week ago and are making every effort to meet our deadlines,” he stated.

Enyan further assured that all necessary materials for the project are on site, but the completion timeline remains uncertain due to weather conditions.

“While all the resources needed for the project are available, the exact completion date is difficult to determine because of the current weather challenges,” he concluded.
