Leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has inaugurated the Upper East Regional Council members of the Association to steer its affairs in the Region.

The inaugurated Council members, who have a four-year tenure, include nine Regional Executives, Chairpersons, and Secretaries from the 15 Municipalities and Districts of the Region.

Desmond Yaani, the Regional Public Relations Officer of the Association, in a statement copied to the media, said Thomas Lambon, the Assistant National Treasurer of the Association, inaugurated the Council at the GRNMA’s ultra-modern state-of-the-art hostel facility at Pusu-Namongo in the Talensi District on behalf of Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, President of the Association.

According to the statement, Mr. Lambon “underscored the principles of unity, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice as vital for the Council’s success”.

The statement indicated that Mr. Lambon, who doubles as the Upper East Regional Parent of the Association, further encouraged the Council to adhere to the GRNMA’s laid down rules and regulations in its activities for the ultimate benefit of members.

The Public Relations (PR) Unit called on nurses and midwives across the region, especially those who would soon be posted to various health facilities across the Region, to join the GRNMA, which is the recognized Association with the bargaining certificate to advocate for better conditions of service for them.

The statement noted that with the “excellent leadership style” of Mrs. Ofori-Ampofo and her team of dedicated executives, the Association had achieved remarkable successes and advocated for the welfare of nurses and midwives.

The PR Unit urged members of the Association to remain united, insisting that “Unity is Strength”.
