Simon Aworigo, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Navrongo Central constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) to resist any pressures that could compromise the upcoming elections.
Speaking during the submission of his nomination forms to EC officials on Monday, September 9, 2024, Mr. Aworigo emphasized the importance of a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.
Mr. Aworigo urged the EC officials to remain steadfast in their duties, ensuring that the election process is conducted transparently and without bias.
“I call upon all electoral officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity. Do not succumb to any individual or group pressures that may compromise the sanctity of our electoral process,” he stated.
He further highlighted the critical role that the EC plays in maintaining democracy and urged them to adhere strictly to their code of ethics.
The submission of nomination forms is a crucial step in the electoral process, signaling a candidate’s official entry into the race.
In response, the EC officials in Navrongo Central assured Mr. Aworigo and his supporters of their commitment to a fair electoral process.
