Dr. Mark-Kurt Nawaane, the Member of Parliament for the Nabdam constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Electoral Commission officials in the area to resist any external pressure that could compromise their professionalism during and after the upcoming December 7th elections.

The MP emphasized that the conduct of the electoral officials would play a key role in determining the peace and stability of the nation throughout the electoral process.

Dr. Nawaane made these remarks during the submission of his nomination form, a crucial step in his re-election bid for the December polls.

Addressing a gathering that included NDC supporters, he urged the officials to uphold the integrity of their duties and remain impartial, regardless of the circumstances.

According to the MP, ensuring fair and transparent elections is essential for maintaining public trust in the country’s democratic process.

He noted that any deviation from their professional obligations could lead to unrest, and as such, he appealed to the officials to follow the rules and remain unbiased, as their actions would contribute significantly to post-election peace.

In response, the Electoral Commission officials reassured Dr. Nawaane and his supporters of their unwavering commitment to executing their duties with the highest level of professionalism.

They assured the public that they would adhere strictly to the electoral code of conduct and ensure that the upcoming elections in the Nabdam constituency are conducted transparently and fairly.
