The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga East, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has called on officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the constituency to ensure professionalism and impartiality in the upcoming elections.

Dr. Ayine emphasized that the commission’s independence will play a crucial role in determining the credibility of the elections and maintaining the peace Ghana has enjoyed over the years.

Addressing EC officials during the submission of his nomination form at the Bolgatanga East constituency office, the legislator urged them not to succumb to pressure from individuals or groups who may seek to influence their work for personal gain.

He stressed the importance of the commission’s neutrality in carrying out its duties, stating that any deviation could undermine the democratic process and peace in the country.

“The integrity and independence of the Electoral Commission are paramount to safeguarding our democracy. I encourage all officials to remain steadfast in their responsibilities, execute their tasks without fear or favor, and ensure that the upcoming elections reflect the will of the people,” Dr. Ayine remarked.

He further highlighted that Ghana’s enviable track record of peaceful elections is largely due to the commitment of the EC to fairness and transparency.

He noted that this legacy must be protected as the nation approaches yet another crucial election cycle.

The officials assured the legislator of upholding their professional duties during and after the elections.
