NDA hands over new 6-unit classroom block to Alembilla community

The Northern Development Authority (NDA) has officially handed over a newly constructed six-unit classroom block facility to the Alembilla community in the Kassena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region.

This initiative is part of the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), which aims to enhance access to quality social services, including education, health, and water, while simultaneously reducing poverty in the region.

During the ceremony, the Upper East Regional Director of the NDA, Robert Alagskomah, underscored the significance of the project, emphasizing that it aligns with the NDA’s broader strategy to tackle poverty through the provision of essential infrastructure in underserved areas.

He expressed optimism that the new classroom block would significantly enhance educational quality for children in Alembilla and surrounding communities, providing a conducive learning environment expected to boost educational outcomes.

In his remarks, the Kassena Nankana West District Chief Executive, Gerard Ataogye, commended the NDA for its unwavering support to the district. He reiterated the District Assembly’s commitment to facilitating similar developmental projects in the future.

Mr. Ataogye urged the community to take excellent care of the facility to ensure its sustainability and long-term utility for generations to come.

The Kassena Nankana West District Director of Education, George Bebuga Woyongo, also praised the initiative, highlighting the crucial role quality infrastructure plays in promoting educational development. He encouraged parents to fully leverage the benefits of the new facility by ensuring their children attend school regularly.

Robert Aloo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Chaina Paga Constituency, commended the NDA for its efforts and pledged to advocate for additional educational and infrastructural projects within the constituency.

A representative from the Nabango community’s chief expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NDA and the government for responding to the community’s long-standing need for improved educational infrastructure. He assured that the community would take full responsibility for maintaining the classroom block, ensuring it serves the educational needs of future generations.
