Samuel Kodzo Dzakpasu, the Business Development Manager and Franchise Manager for the Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS), has highlighted that the program aims to enhance children’s cognitive abilities through its unique brain development initiatives. According to him, UCMAS has been transforming education since its inception in 1993 and launched in Ghana in 2007.
The program operates in 83 countries and is making a significant impact on children’s education worldwide. “It’s the children who have been affected over the years in different countries and on different continents.”
In an interview on A1 Radio, he emphasized the organization’s commitment to enabling Ghana to lead educational advancements in Africa, noting that UCMAS is recognized as the fastest brain development program globally.
The program focuses on children aged 4 to 14, providing essential skills that often allow them to excel beyond their grade levels. “What UCMAS should be known for is that it is the fastest brain development program in the world, hands down. We have changed the face of education in many places.”
Mr. Dzakpasu shared success stories of children who have advanced rapidly in their education, showcasing the effectiveness of UCMAS’s approach. “We’ve had children who are eight years old in class five, and the school had to stop promoting the child and organized UCMAS for the whole school. We’ve had children who took the B.E.C.E in class six.”
Furthermore, he added that UCMAS will implement both school-based and center-based programs in the Upper East Region, encouraging schools to adopt the school-based model for better integration and ownership. He explained that this approach not only fosters pride within schools as their students excel but also makes participation more affordable for parents.
He underscored an informational event scheduled to take place at TAP Hotel on Thursday, October 10, where various schools, dignitaries, and regional officials will convene to discuss the benefits of UCMAS for children. Mr. Dzakpasu assured that a dedicated team will address any concerns and ensure smooth operations in the region. “We have a solid team that’s coming to oversee the operations and also ensure that any concerns anyone has will be addressed.”
