The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central constituency, Isaac Adongo, has donated 50 motorbikes to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region.
This initiative aims to bolster the party’s campaign efforts ahead of the December 7th elections. The donation has been strategically allocated, with 35 motorbikes going to seven constituencies where incumbent MPs are not seeking re-election.
These constituencies include Zebilla, Garu, Binduri, Bongo, Navrongo, Chiana-Paga, and Talensi. The remaining 15 motorbikes will be distributed among branch executives in Mr. Adongo’s own constituency.
According to Mr. Adongo, the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee in Parliament, his commitment to the NDC is clear, and the donation is expected to enhance the party’s mobilization efforts, particularly in areas with new candidates vying for seats.
“There are seven constituencies where the sitting MPs are not running for re-election, and I am donating five motorbikes to each constituency, which gives me 35. I am also donating a further 15 to support branch executives in my constituency, bringing the total to 50 motorbikes. So, win all 15 seats for us,” he told the party’s Regional Chairman.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Zebilla constituency, Ebenezer Ndebilla, whose constituency is benefiting from the donation, thanked Mr. Adongo on behalf of the other parliamentary candidates. He highlighted the significance of the motorbikes to his constituency and the other areas receiving support.
The Upper East Regional Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Abdulai Mumuni Bolnaba, received the donation on behalf of the party and expressed his gratitude. He also expressed optimism, stating that Mr. Adongo would contribute even more if the NDC comes to power.
Alhaji Bolnaba further assured the Bolgatanga Central MP of his commitment to winning all 15 parliamentary seats for the party in the December 7th general election.
