The Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bongo Constituency, Diana Aburiya Asuure, has expressed concern about why voters in the area continue to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly its candidates, despite the fact that the party’s MPs have failed to make any discernible contributions to development.
“If you go to Bongo and ask any native to point out what the NDC MPs have done for the constituency in the last 32 years, I don’t think anyone can point to anything,” Ms. Asuure stated.
She made these remarks while speaking with A1 Radio’s Mark Smith recently. Ms. Asuure explained that voters in the area have shared similar concerns with her and are clamoring for her election as Member of Parliament to address the critical developmental needs of the people.
However, the NPP’s candidate for Bongo was quick to acknowledge that in the Upper East Region, other MPs from different constituencies have managed to contribute to the development of physical infrastructure, demonstrating their commitment to the well-being of their constituents.
“When you go to other constituencies, we hear on our radios and television sets what other MPs are doing. Let me give a typical example of Binduri,” she said.
“In Binduri, for instance, if you visit and look at the projects MPs have undertaken, it will amaze you. The people can point to numerous projects their MPs have provided over the years.”
Ms. Asuure insisted that the constituency’s unwavering loyalty to the NDC has led MPs to take the people for granted.
The NPP candidate is hopeful for a massive victory in the December 7 polls.
