In a recent interview with Mark Smith on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East, legendary musician Stevo Atambire discussed the upcoming SAA WOO Festival, scheduled for October 26, 2024.
Now in its sixth year, the festival continues to evolve, with new features added annually to enhance the experience.
Stevo shared that his inspiration for the festival stemmed from witnessing the positive impact of festivals abroad, which foster development, unity, and economic growth.
“During my performances at various festivals abroad, I realized their profound impact on development and unity. They also generate significant monetary resources for the communities involved. I wanted to replicate that in my own country, specifically in the Upper East Region. The SAA WOO Festival is my way of giving back to society and showcasing our rich culture to the world,” he said.
He also highlighted the challenges of organizing such an event, noting the need for significant investment in energy, time, and financial resources due to the difficulty in securing sponsors.
With anticipation building for this year’s festival, Stevo remains dedicated to promoting cultural pride and community spirit through music.
