Lawyer Anthony Namoo has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).
The announcement was made by the outgoing Chairman, Lawyer Amoka Afoko, during an interview on A1 Radio, where he also addressed concerns regarding the recent closure of some courts in the region.
Lawyer Afoko confirmed that the swearing-in ceremony for the new Chairman is scheduled to take place next week, marking a pivotal moment for the Bar Association and its members in the region.
He expressed confidence in Lawyer Namoo’s ability to lead, noting his impressive track record and dedication to the legal profession.
Lawyer Namoo, who has been practicing law since October 2004, is recognized for his exemplary leadership qualities and commitment to legal advocacy.
His colleagues hold high hopes for his tenure as Chairman, believing that his experience and vision will help navigate the challenges facing the legal system in the region and the country at large.
In addition to his role in the Bar Association, Lawyer Namoo is also the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
