Dr. Nadia Adongo Fynn, Deputy Director for Diaspora Affairs at the Presidency, has publicly declared her support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the Bolgatanga East constituency, Matthew Silas Amoah.
“I am here to support the NPP Parliamentary Candidate in my constituency, Matthew Silas Amoah,” Dr. Fynn affirmed during an interview on A1 Radio.
She expressed concerns over the voting patterns in the Upper East Region, emphasizing that the region has consistently favored the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but has received little in return.
“My region turned out to vote for a one-sided party, and I think we’ve not been fair. The NDC has always received massive votes from the Upper East. However, we have nothing to show,” she remarked.
Dr. Fynn criticized the NDC for neglecting the region despite its overwhelming support in past elections. She argued that the Upper East Region should be a priority for the NDC, given the substantial votes it has delivered over the years. However, she claimed that the NDC appears to take the region’s loyalty for granted, assuming that the region will continue to vote in their favor regardless of circumstances.
“We have given them so many votes that we should be one of the regions they focus on, but they feel no matter what, Upper East will vote for them,” she said.
Dr. Fynn called for unity across political lines and urged for the equitable distribution of government projects and initiatives to ensure balanced development. She emphasized the need to highlight the achievements of the current government in all regions, including the Upper East, to foster fairness and inclusivity.
“We all have to come together and share the good work that the government is doing,” she added.
Her remarks underline a broader call for political accountability and balanced development across all regions of Ghana.
