“Legends Never Die” is an initiative founded of Coach Fatawu Salifu, assistant coach of Ghana’s National U20, the Black Satellites.
“Legends Never Die” is a testament to the enduring legacy of sports legends and the impact they have on future generations. By celebrating their achievements and contributions, we can inspire and motivate others to strive for greatness.
Coach Fatawu Salifu’s vision for “Legends Never Die” is a wonderful tribute to the power of sports to unite, inspire, and transform lives.
As part of the activities to mark the event, which kicks off from Thursday, November 28th, until December 1st, 2024, we will witness eleven U13 juvenile clubs battling one another.
We shall also witness eight selected legends and their communities take center stage to showcase their lost talents of yesteryear.
The eight legends are: Awala Kwaku, known as “Kwaku Porter”, Anaba Arafat, known as “That is the Way”, Joseph Apana, known as Coach Apana, Abaa-inge Ayinbilla, known as “Sea Man”, Fatawu Bello, known as “Fatawu Bomber”, Mallam Abubakar Hashimiwu, known as “Chairman Hashimiwu”, Abdulai Abubakar Ouedraogo, known as “Abuba Thunder”, Abubakar Yussif, known as “Coach Abele”
The communities they are representing or are from are: Gumbiisi-zongo, Majeema, Pobaga, Dagmweo, Tanzui, Kotokoli-zongo, Dapooretindongo and Yarigabiisi.
