The Member of Parliament for the Bongo Constituency, Lawyer Charles Bawa, has declared that the time for transformative development in Bongo is now, following the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s resounding victory in the 2020 elections and the subsequent appointment of several indigenes to key government positions.

Speaking to reporters, the MP emphasized his commitment to working closely with stakeholders to address the long-standing neglect of the area and ensure it receives its fair share of national resources.

Lawyer Bawa highlighted the significance of recent appointments of Bongo natives under the NDC administration, including Hon. Donatus Akamugri Atanga as Upper East Regional Minister, Edward Abambire Bawa as CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and Rainer Akumperigeya as Secretary to the Constitutional Review Committee.

According to him, these appointments present a unique opportunity to accelerate development in the constituency.

“Since 1992, Bongo has remained loyal to the NDC, and under this current administration, I want to assure my people that Bongo will receive its fair and largest share of the national cake,” Bawa stated.

He acknowledged the constituency’s vast size and underdevelopment, pledging to collaborate with his fellow appointees to deliver the necessary progress.

“The time for Bongo to develop is now,” he asserted.
