The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has suspended six of its constituency executives in the Pusiga constituency.
A letter sighted by A1 Radio indicates that the suspensions follow a meeting held on January 25, 2025, in Bolgatanga, where the Regional Executive Committee deliberated on various concerns regarding the executives’ conduct within the party.
The six suspended members include Awinimi Emmanuel Constituency Communication Officer, Belingumse Sawuda 2nd Vice Chairman, and Haruna Salam Assistant Secretary. The rest are Kazussah Jacob Treasurer, Salifu Ibn Adam Elections and Research Officer, and Iddrisu Kadiri Deputy Nasara Coordinator.
The suspensions are related to allegations of anti-party behavior, particularly involving Awinimi Emmanuel, the Constituency Communications Officer. According to a letter signed by Anthony Namoo Esq., the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, the regional executive committee received and thoroughly reviewed a complaint against Awinimi Emmanuel, which was found to have merit.
During the suspension, the 6 individuals are prohibited from performing any functions related to their roles as constituency executives. Additionally, they are required to hand over all party property in their possession to the constituency secretary.
