Despite losing his seat as the Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency, Abdulai Abanga remains committed to fulfilling his promises to the people.

His dedication to development is evident as he continues to complete projects initiated during his tenure, allowing the District Assembly to commission them for public use.

These projects, aimed at improving livelihoods, span various sectors, including potable water, education, healthcare, and sanitation facilities in key market centers.

One of the most recent projects commissioned is a six-seater ultramodern W/C toilet facility with a mechanized water source at the Bazua Market.

Bazua Market, one of the largest trading centers in the Binduri District, has long suffered from inadequate sanitation facilities, forcing traders and residents to resort to open defecation.

With an estimated cost of nearly GHC400,000, the newly commissioned toilet facility is expected to eliminate this unhealthy practice and improve hygiene standards at the market.

During the commissioning ceremony, traders expressed immense relief over the resolution of their long-standing sanitation challenges.

One trader noted, “We appreciate the former MP for his commitment and selfless support. This project means a lot to us, as we have struggled for years without a proper place to ease ourselves.”

Speaking to the media, the District Deputy Coordinating Director, Mr. Kipo Alhassan, emphasized the significance of the facility.

“This toilet will serve at least 400 people in the area daily. We urge beneficiaries to maintain it well to ensure its long-term use,” he stated.

Mr. Alhassan also acknowledged the former MP’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents, adding that such efforts set a precedent for continuous development regardless of political tenure.

In an interview, Abdulai Abanga reiterated his dedication to the constituency’s development.

“Livelihood empowerment is key to improving the well-being of my people. Despite my tenure as MP ending, I remain committed to supporting the constituency with the little resources I have,” he affirmed.

He further disclosed that two additional toilet facilities of similar capacity are underway in different parts of the district, each costing close to GHC400,000.

The commissioning ceremony witnessed a massive turnout of enthusiastic youth, women, and elderly residents, all expressing gratitude for the new facility.

The Chief of Bazua, Naaba Asuguru, extended heartfelt appreciation to the District Assembly and the former MP for their initiative.

“This project is a great relief for our people. We thank Hon. Abanga for his foresight and the Assembly for ensuring its completion.”
