The 38 Assembly members — 27 elected and 11 appointed — voted on Monday, April 28, to confirm the nominee. In his victory and acceptance speech, Roland Ayoo thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work hard for the total development of the Assembly.
Mr. Ayoo also expressed gratitude to the Assembly members for their support in confirming him as the new MCE.
“I am grateful to the President of the country, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the opportunity given me to serve as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bolgatanga,” he said.
The new MCE expressed confidence that the Bolgatanga Municipality would benefit significantly from the government’s initiatives under his leadership. He pledged to work in line with the President’s vision for the full benefit of the municipality.
“I solemnly align with the President’s vision to resuscitate Ghana’s ailing economy and reset it on the path of growth and prosperity, and I am confident that the Bolgatanga Municipality will receive its fair share of the government’s resetting agenda under my stewardship as MCE,” he stated.
