Dr. Justice Aduko, the Assembly Member for the Soe-Yipaala Electoral Area, has expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support and active participation of his constituents, highlighting the unique bond he shares with the people he serves.
Speaking during an interview on A1 Radio, he reflected on his experiences and the sense of fulfillment that his role brings. Describing his position as an opportunity to effect meaningful change at the local level, Dr. Aduko emphasized that despite the challenges and pressures associated with the work, the joy of positively impacting the community continues to drive his commitment. He noted that being an assembly member is not just a duty but a platform to bring tangible improvements to people’s lives.
“Others will say it’s hectic, but I enjoy being an assembly member. With all the issues that come with it, I feel a lot of joy because I’ve always had the feeling that I am at least making an impact in society.”
He also acknowledged the vital role community engagement plays in his leadership approach. The people of Soe and Yipaala, he said, have shown exceptional cooperation and participation in governance activities. Their willingness to respond when called upon and their readiness to discuss pressing issues have contributed significantly to the smooth running of local administration.
“My people are very cooperative. They are very participatory. Anytime there are issues we need to discuss and I call on them, I don’t know about other assemblies or those who came before me, but for me, the love from my people is overwhelming.”
Dr. Aduko believes that accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of the people are central to effective leadership. As such, he has made it a priority to maintain open lines of communication with his constituents.
The Assembly Member also commended the youth of the area, particularly the various youth leaders, for their consistent support. Their ability to quickly mobilize and contribute to communal efforts has been a key asset in addressing development challenges and advancing local initiatives. He encouraged them to sustain the momentum, expressing optimism about the future of Soe and Yipaala.
“Let me also commend the youth front and all the youth leaders within my electoral area for the support they have always given. When there’s an issue and you ask them to mobilize, within a few minutes, they respond and do all that is required. That is very commendable. I truly appreciate their efforts, and I encourage them to keep the fire burning. I believe that in the long run, Soe and Yipaala will become great communities to live in.”
