The Managing Director of the Irrigation Company of Upper Region (ICOUR), Dominic Anarigide, has announced a bold vision to rebrand and restructure the company in order to win back the trust and appreciation of farmers in the Upper East Region.
In an exclusive interview on A1 Radio, Mr. Anarigide acknowledged the impact of a previous administration that tarnished the company’s image and said it is now time for a new era of transparency, collaboration, and farmer-centered leadership.
“The previous administration brought a lot of negative stories to ICOUR. My job is to change that narrative. We are rebranding, reuniting, and restructuring ICOUR to earn public love and appreciation as a body that listens to farmers and works for their growth,” he said.
He emphasized that under his leadership, ICOUR will not function through authoritarianism, but rather a participatory and inclusive approach that views farmers as key stakeholders.
“I see farmers as collaborators. I seek their advice and value their shared experiences. The days of top-down leadership are over,” he assured.
Mr. Anarigide also reaffirmed his commitment to align ICOUR’s operations with the government’s “Feed Ghana” agenda, which seeks to improve food security and agricultural sustainability nationwide.
According to him, strategic collaborations remain open to all partners with genuine intentions to enhance the welfare of farmers and boost agricultural productivity.
“My doors are open to partnerships—ones that serve the greater good of our farmers and the ICOUR body,” he added.
