The Managing Director of the Irrigation Company of Upper Region (ICOUR), Dominic Anarigide, has revealed that ten serious investors have shown strong interest in partnering with the company as part of efforts to restructure and rebrand ICOUR.
This revelation comes at a time when the institution is undergoing a transformation to restore its image and relevance in Ghana’s agricultural sector after legal battles and disunity among workers.
Speaking exclusively to A1 Radio, Mr. Anarigide stated, “Ten investors have approached us with strong willingness to invest. All these are the rebranding and restructuring that we want to see in ICOUR.”
He emphasized that ICOUR is committed to a new beginning and assured the public and potential partners that the organization is now ready to operate with transparency, accountability, and a renewed focus on farmer-centered development.
“We are in for good, and we have repented. We are now a new ICOUR ready to grow for the good of farmers. Therefore, come and we will do business—our doors are open,” Mr. Anarigide stated passionately.
The Managing Director further appealed for collaborative support from key stakeholders, including the media, traditional authorities, and policymakers, to help push ICOUR’s agenda of agricultural transformation in the Upper East Region and beyond.
“This is not just about irrigation. It’s about food security, economic empowerment, and building resilience in our communities. We need all hands on deck,” he added.
Mr. Anarigide’s assurance of renewed leadership and investor confidence signals a positive shift for the company, with hopes that this transformation will translate into improved livelihoods for farmers and increased food production in the region.
