As Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, continues to rebuild its reputation on the continental stage, one name stands out for his quiet resilience and technical expertise—Coach Salifu Fatawu. Currently serving as the assistant coach, Fatawu has played a key role in the team’s resurgence, contributing to some of its biggest youth football triumphs in recent years.
Despite the team’s early exit from the U-20 World Cup qualifiers in Egypt, Coach Fatawu and his technical team remained determined to restore the pride of the Black Satellites. Ghana advanced to the semi-finals but narrowly lost to eventual champions Ivory Coast. The Satellites bounced back to defeat Niger 2-0, securing third place and a bronze medal.
Coach Fatawu, known for his tactical discipline and calm demeanor, was instrumental in shaping the team’s preparation and performance. His presence in the dugout reflects years of dedication, and his track record with the Black Satellites tells a compelling story of consistency and ambition.
