The Sigibunga Nimoro Modam Pepper Sellers Association has donated essential medical equipment to the Paga District Hospital in the Upper East Region, bolstering the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality healthcare to residents.
The donation, which includes a phototherapy machine for infants, an oxygen concentrator, and other vital medical supplies, is aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare services as well as emergency care for critically ill patients.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, a leading member of the association and Chairman of the Paga Youth Movement, emphasized the importance of community support in advancing healthcare delivery.
“We believe access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and we are proud to contribute toward making that a reality,” he said.
The association’s secretary, Ibrahim Kande, described the gesture as a symbol of the group’s dedication to building a healthier and more resilient community.
“We hope this inspires other associations, groups, and individuals to support local health facilities in similar ways,” she added.
Receiving the equipment, the Medical Superintendent of Paga District Hospital, Mr. Didie Oteng, expressed deep gratitude for the timely intervention.
“This support comes at a critical time and will go a long way in improving our ability to provide quality healthcare to the people of Paga and surrounding communities,” he said.
This donation forms part of a broader community-driven effort to support healthcare delivery in rural Ghana, particularly in underserved regions like the Upper East, where access to lifesaving medical equipment remains a challenge. The Sigibunga Nimoro Modam Pepper Sellers Association continues to position itself as a key player in local development and health promotion through such impactful initiatives.
