The Member of Parliament for Zebilla Constituency in the Upper East Region, Ebenezer Ndebilla Alomire, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving education in his constituency through a series of impactful interventions.
On September 17, 2025, the MP donated six motorbikes to the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Zebilla to support operations and strengthen supervision across schools.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ndebilla underscored the importance of a strong education system in driving development. He pledged to renovate the GES office in Zebilla, stressing that a conducive working environment for staff is essential to improving teaching and learning.
He further announced plans to cut sod for several projects in the coming weeks, including six-room classroom blocks at Zibok and Narigu, teachers’ quarters at Gbantongo Primary School, and a Home Economics block at Zebilla SHS/T. These, he explained, are aimed at addressing infrastructure challenges and supporting both teachers and students in the pursuit of quality education.
Beyond infrastructure, Mr. Ndebilla highlighted his efforts in human resource development. He revealed that 18 students from the constituency have been awarded scholarships to pursue their first degrees, with some currently studying medicine. This, he said, is part of his vision to empower the youth and build a skilled future workforce.
The MP also extended support to local artisans. Fifty tailors, both men and women, received donations to boost their trade—an initiative he described as a way of promoting economic empowerment and self-sufficiency within the constituency.
Mr. Ndebilla, however, acknowledged the acute shortage of teachers in Zebilla and assured constituents that steps were being taken to address the gap.
“Our children deserve the best education, and we will continue to work to ensure that every student has access to quality teaching,” he said.
Community members welcomed the interventions, describing them as timely and vital for improving education and livelihoods in Zebilla.
With these commitments, Mr. Ndebilla continues to position education as the cornerstone of his development agenda for the constituency.
