The Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Roland Atanga Ayoo, has outlined several development projects aimed at improving education, health, and sanitation across the municipality.
Appearing before Parliament’s Local Government Accounts Committee on Friday, October 10, 2025, Mr. Ayoo said the Assembly remains committed to addressing the developmental needs of communities within the municipality.
“We intend to rehabilitate a primary school in Kolbia to improve the learning environment for the children,” he said. “We also plan to complete a three-unit classroom block at Sherigu, which was initiated by the community.”
He further disclosed that the Assembly will undertake an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) project to enhance digital learning.
“We intend to put up a 50-capacity ICT laboratory in Yorogo to promote ICT education among pupils and equip them with essential digital skills,” the MCE revealed.
In the health sector, Mr. Ayoo announced plans to construct a CHPS compound at Tindonmoligo to expand access to healthcare delivery.
“We also intend to put up a CHPS compound in Tindonmoligo to serve residents who currently travel long distances for basic health services,” he stated.
Mr. Ayoo also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve sanitation in several communities.
“We will construct a 12-seater toilet facility with a mechanized borehole to serve residents of Tindonmoligo and Pubaga,” he said. “Additionally, the Soe community will benefit from a 10-seater water closet facility with a mechanized borehole to improve hygiene and sanitation in the area.”
Touching on the Assembly’s financial management, the MCE reported significant progress in recovering monies owed to the Assembly.
“Out of an outstanding amount of GH¢10,370 that the Assembly was supposed to recover from debtors, we have so far retrieved about GH¢9,500, leaving a balance of approximately GH¢520,” Mr. Ayoo revealed. “We have receipts to prove these recoveries.”
He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and equitable development across all communities in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
“Our goal is to ensure that every community feels the impact of government’s development agenda. We will continue to work diligently to improve infrastructure and service delivery for our people,” the MCE assured.
