Rap artist Soorebia has praised the artistry and mentorship of Upper East music legend Kundivi Mahama, whose creative direction helped shape Soorebia’s latest single, “Lies and Vibes.”

“Lies and Vibes” explores how men often woo women, suggesting that sometimes, a mix of “lies and vibes” can win someone’s heart.

Released on Friday, October 17, 2025, the track is a captivating highlife rhythm infused with a smooth blend of rap.

“Somewhere around February or March, I wanted to put an EP together,” Soorebia recounted. “We set up a studio, which happened to be at Kundivi’s place. We recorded a few songs and had just finished one when, out of nowhere, Kundivi said, ‘Play Amponsah.’ I didn’t even know what Amponsah was. So Azkonna tried, and they got the chords.”

After hearing the chords, Soorebia realized it was a highlife rhythm — a style he had never worked with before. “Experimenting with sounds excites me,” he said. “When something is new, I want to try it out.”

As the team played around with the instruments, “the concept of the song just came,” he added.

“The song came out of pure vibes. We were in the studio, someone said one thing, it led to another, and the song was birthed.”

Soorebia emphasized Kundivi Mahama’s influence on the project. “Because he’s an artist with great experience in live band and highlife, he directed the song from start to finish. I have to say a big thank you to him.”
