The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has cautioned individuals and groups against paying bloggers and social media commentators to malign his office, insisting that such tactics will not deter him from ensuring that justice is delivered fairly and diligently.
Speaking at the Accountability Press Series held in Accra on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Dr. Ayine stated that his office remains focused and committed to handling all ongoing investigations and prosecutions with the highest level of professionalism and transparency.
He emphasized that the Office of the Attorney General (AG) is guided by due process and will not bow to external pressure or public opinion.
“I want to make it clear that the orchestrated online ridicule and sponsored attacks will not work. The law will take its course, and justice will soon be served in all cases currently under investigation and prosecution,” Dr. Ayine said.
He dismissed claims of incompetence leveled against him by critics, stressing that his record as a legal practitioner speaks for itself.
“I have never been incompetent in my private practice, and I will not be incompetent in public service. I understand the law and the responsibilities that come with this office,” he asserted.
Dr. Ayine further noted that many of those under investigation possess vast resources and the capacity to hire top lawyers to defend themselves. For that reason, he explained, his office must ensure that all necessary documents and evidence are properly gathered before presenting cases in court.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals found culpable face the full rigors of justice, without fear or favor.
