The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central Constituency, Simon Aworigo, has responded to concerns about deteriorating bridge infrastructure in his constituency, following a news feature by A1 Radio highlighting broken bridges in the Navrongo Central and Chiana-Paga constituencies.
In a press statement dated October 23, 2025, the MP expressed condolences to the people of Manyoro and the family who lost a relative due to the poor condition of a bridge in the community. He acknowledged the serious impact of the infrastructure deficit on healthcare delivery and socio-economic activities in the area.
“I am deeply concerned about this problem because of its impact on healthcare delivery and other socio-economic activities within that enclave,” Aworigo stated.
The MP assured constituents that he is actively engaging relevant state agencies to address the crisis. He revealed that approximately a month ago, he engaged the Feeder Roads Department in the region, which resulted in officials visiting the constituency to assess bridges and areas requiring new structures.
According to Aworigo, he followed up with another visit to the Feeder Roads Department three weeks ago, where he was informed that the bundling process for the bridge repairs has commenced and should be completed by the end of October.
The MP also disclosed that he has engaged the Roads Minister directly on the urgent need to fix the Manyoro bridge and other deteriorating bridges in the constituency.
“I urge residents to remain calm while I intensify my engagements and lobbying efforts to fix this persistent problem and others in the supreme interest of our people,” Aworigo appealed.
The MP is also in discussions with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to address similar infrastructure challenges affecting residents in the Navrongo Central Constituency.
