The Upper East Regional representative in this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB), Asakia Hawawu Hanaan, has recounted the emotional and challenging moments leading up to her final performance in the competition — describing it as her most memorable and miraculous experience.
Speaking in an interview on A1 Radio, Miss Asakia revealed that preparations for the grand finale were fraught with setbacks and uncertainty. Just a day before the final show, her team faced last-minute script cancellations and confusion over the performance direction, leaving her emotionally drained.
“At a point, I thought I couldn’t do it. That grand finale performance was a miracle for me and my team. We went through so much — my scripts were canceled, and my team felt I was getting lost. They even had to call my dad to leave Bolga and come to Accra,” she recalled.
Despite the chaos behind the scenes, Asakia delivered a powerful stage performance that moved audiences nationwide. She described the transformation from despair to triumph as nothing short of divine, crediting her strength to the prayers, support, and encouragement of her family, team, and the people of the Upper East Region.
“The night before the finale was one of my lowest moments. But my parents — God bless them — gave me so much strength. The next day, everything changed. It was emotional. I believe the prayers from the Upper East Region reached Allah, and He did something special for me,” she said.
Asakia said that moment became the turning point in her GMB journey, marking her most cherished memory of the competition.
“That performance will forever remain in my heart. It was my best performance — the grand finale,” she added.
The GMB 2025 first runner-up said the experience taught her resilience, faith, and the power of community support, values she hopes to carry into her advocacy and future projects.
