The Ministry of Education has announced the successful processing and payment of outstanding teacher allowances initially scheduled for November 2025, bringing relief to teachers across the country who were affected by delays.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry disclosed that the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has completed the processing and payment of two categories of teacher allowances that were due last month.

According to the Ministry, the payments were delayed due to a technical challenge encountered during the final payroll run.

“The Ministry acknowledges that a technical issue in the final payroll run prevented the payment from being processed as planned,” the statement noted.

It explained that the unforeseen challenge has since been resolved by the CAGD, clearing the way for the completion of the payments to beneficiary teachers nationwide.

The Ministry of Education extended an apology to all teachers who were affected by the delay, acknowledging the inconvenience it may have caused.

It further expressed appreciation for the patience, understanding, and unwavering dedication of teachers, emphasizing their critical role in the delivery of quality education across Ghana.

“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued dedication of our teachers, whose commitment remains central to the delivery of quality education across Ghana,” the statement added.

To prevent similar occurrences in the future, the Ministry assured teachers and the general public of its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and other relevant stakeholders.

This, the Ministry said, is aimed at improving payroll systems and ensuring the timely processing of salaries and allowances.

The statement was signed by the Deputy Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Clement Apaak, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of teachers and the broader education sector.

The announcement is expected to ease concerns among teachers and reinforce confidence in the government’s efforts to address payroll-related challenges within the education system.
