The Holy Ghost Temple Assemblies of God Church in Bolgatanga has donated exercise books, mathematical sets, and an undisclosed amount of money to students across the Bolgatanga Municipality as part of activities marking its 15th anniversary.
The donation, led by the Head Pastor of the church, Reverend Dominic Ziba, benefited two students from each of the 27 electoral areas in the municipality. The gesture was carried out during a church service on Sunday to celebrate the milestone anniversary of the church.
Speaking to the media, Rev. Ziba expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness to the church over the past 15 years, noting that the anniversary provided an opportunity to give back to society.
“God has been so faithful and kind to us over the years. We felt that the goodness of God should not be limited to us as a church, but must be demonstrated by doing something meaningful to support lives in our community,” he said.
He explained that the donation was aimed at supporting the academic pursuits of children, whom he described as the future of the church, the nation and society at large.
According to him, investing in the education and moral upbringing of children would help build responsible citizens and ensure a better future for families and communities.
Rev. Ziba noted that the Bolgatanga Municipality was chosen as the starting point because it is the church’s immediate catchment area, adding that similar initiatives would be extended to other areas in the future.
He used the occasion to encourage parents to prioritise the education of their children, stressing that academic development should take precedence over other social obligations.
While acknowledging the importance of funerals and cultural practices, he appealed to families to invest more in the education of their children, describing it as key to long-term development.
