The Friends of Prosper have reaffirmed their commitment to people-centered development by handing over a newly built two-bedroom house to a widow in Tindonmolgo, a community in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

The gesture, described by residents as timely and impactful, was marked by a brief ceremony attended by community members and local opinion leaders. Speaking at the handover, Stephen Adongo, chairman of Friends of Prosper, addressed public perceptions about the group’s activities, emphasizing that their primary motivation is humanitarian service.

“Politics came and met us; we are here to help people,” Adongo said, stressing that the intervention was driven by the needs of vulnerable community members rather than political interests.

The beneficiary, who had previously lived in a severely weakened mud structure, received the keys to the new cement house with visible emotion. The two-bedroom facility, which includes a living area, replaces what neighbors described as an unsafe structure exposed to harsh weather conditions.

According to Adongo, Friends of Prosper — a volunteer group supporting the vision of ProsperAwuni in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency — prioritizes practical interventions that directly improve living conditions, particularly for widows and other vulnerable individuals.

Community elders at the event commended the initiative, saying it reflects leadership that delivers tangible benefits at the grassroots level. They called on other political and social groups to focus on interventions that address real community challenges.

As the ceremony concluded with prayers and words of appreciation, residents said the project has restored dignity and security to the beneficiary. The completed house now stands as a symbol of social responsibility and a reminder that meaningful engagement begins with meeting the immediate needs of the people.
