On New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2026, Adamu Apasinore, the assembly member for the Yarigabisi Electoral Area, used his personal funds to water the dusty Bolga–Bawku road at the Kulaa stretch to reduce the hardship faced by residents and road users.
The section of the road has become a major health concern, particularly on Bolgatanga market days, after the contractor abandoned the project nearly two years ago. Thick dust from vehicular movement has affected traders, pedestrians and nearby residents.
“The abandoned state of this road is creating serious health consequences. We cannot afford to wait any longer—just look at the dust,” Apasinore said.
His intervention, supported by residents including Salifu Afangya, Gilbert Aniah and Mohammed, was met with appreciation from motorists and pedestrians, many of whom praised and blessed the assemblyman for his timely action.
Apasinore used the occasion to appeal to the government to expedite the completion of the Bolga–Bawku road project and ensure the contractor returns to site.
He said the situation highlights the urgent need for lasting infrastructure solutions and expressed hope that authorities would respond swiftly to the concerns of affected communities.
