Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has donated an amount of Ghc20,000 to support the surgical treatment of a 23-year-old man from Sumbrungu who is currently receiving medical care at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The young man is undergoing treatment at the neurosurgical ward of the hospital after doctors diagnosed him with a condition that requires a single-level corpectomy, a specialised surgical procedure critical to his recovery. Following medical examinations and consultations with specialists, the surgery was deemed urgent to safeguard his health and prevent further complications.
Job Aboyom, Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency in a statement commended the MP for his selfless act and continuous support for the people.
According to the Communication Officer, the financial support from Mr. Adongo is expected to significantly ease the burden on the patient and his family, who would otherwise struggle to raise the funds needed for the operation. “The donation will help ensure that the surgery is carried out without delay, giving the young man a renewed chance at recovery and improved quality of life”, he stated.
Mr. Aboyom described the gesture as a clear demonstration of compassion and commitment to the welfare of constituents, particularly those facing medical emergencies. “It highlights the importance of leadership that responds promptly to the needs of vulnerable members of society”.
