The Talensi Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustine Guure, has announced his intention to contest for the position of constituency chairman in the party’s upcoming 2026 internal elections.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Mr. Guure expressed gratitude to party members for the opportunity to serve as constituency secretary for nearly four years, describing his tenure as a period of dedicated service to the party.
He said he would soon formally engage party delegates and executives as he seeks what he described as a “promotion” to continue serving the party in a leadership capacity as constituency chairman.
Mr. Guure also called on party members to remain united and committed to the NDC’s “Reset Agenda,” which he described as the path toward achieving the party’s broader goals.
He ended his message with appeals for solidarity and invoked party spirit, signaling the start of what is expected to be an internal contest ahead of the constituency elections.
